Kent Wildlife Trust – 9.30am – 12.30pm
Join us for a guided walk of Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, taking some time to observe the birds found there during winter. Your guide will be one of the reserve’s dedicated volunteers, who knows exactly what to look out for!
With the trees having shed their leaves, this is a good time to see the regular woodland species including goldcrest and treecreeper. These are augmented by flocks of overwintering siskin, and there are regular sightings of redwing, brambling and redpoll. On the lakes, the resident ducks are joined by shoveler, gadwall and wigeon, whilst there is also the chance of seeing snipe and the elusive water rail.
We recommend you bring a pair of binoculars to make the most of this walk. It could be muddy underfoot, so please wear sturdy footwear.
After the walk the Visitor Centre will be open so you can warm up with a hot drink or browse the selection of wildlife books and other items in the shop. Toilets are available at the start and end of the walk. This walk is recommended for over 12s only.
Tickets £8 per person
